Thanks to so many of you, Casa Ahavá has been serving hurting people for two years. Below is a brief video celebrating that and celebrating all the patients who have come to be a part of Casa Ahavá.
We are trying to make Casa Ahavá a bit more visible. Please help by sharing our new site www.casaahava.org and (if you are a twitter user) following us on twitter @casaahava.
Thanks for all your support for us and for Casa Ahavá.
We’re getting ready to come back to the USA for 2 months but we want you to have the opportunity to meet our patients and friends. We spoke with Tomás and he gave his blessing and permission to share this video with you.
Please take a few minutes and get to know this incredible man, loved and known by Jesus, fighting for his life and to see his children again.
Someone made me aware that if anyone is reading this on an apple iDevice, they can’t watch the youtube clip embedded above. I think it helps if I include the link to the video straight on youtube then (I don’t own an iPad, iPhone, iPod or iAnythingElse so I’m not sure). If it helps, here’s the link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DIK-WR-eLk8
This has been on our hearts for some time now. We’ve been praying and fasting and seeking the Lord’s heart and we want those who read this, especially those who consider themselves part of our team to know what God is doing and how He’s leading in us the ministry that He’s called us to.
There is a link to a pdf document here that I hope you have time to open and read. It explains more about how God whispered to our hearts and pushed us to arrive where we have but to put it plainly, we want Casa Ahavá to grow. We have room now for 4, we need room for more. As team members we feel it’s important that you know that, that you pray with us, that you are on the same page as we.
Here’s the link to where you can find that pdf document
Here is a short video that may help explain visually, what God has laid on our hearts.
Please, please, please, pray with us about this and about how we can be faithful in what God has called us to NOW and how we can be faithful to what God is calling us to in the future.
Well, we’ve been here almost a month and the promised “home-tour-video” has finally arrived. Our house is a bit more livable now (sorry it’s taken so long to get this up) and we’re happy to show you around. We’ve been working hard and trying to get it looking nice for you all and we will continue to work on it to finish up the parts that still need work. Thank you all for your patience and your support as we’ve managed the stress and work that it takes to move into a new house.
We are rolling out Video Blogging to jonandlayne.com. We’ll try to do it about once a month and we hope that it helps give an even better glimpse into our lives here. We’ve also written a newsletter that you can download and view from the link below the video. Thanks for reading/watching!
Jon and Layne Heller live with their 4 daughters in Maputo, Mozambique and lead Casa Ahavá, the first hospice and convalescence home in the country. They have lived there since 2009.
